| | Description: |  | Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks associated with the operation and maintenance of the District's water treatment plant and water laboratory to include domestic production facilities, agricultural pumping and storage facilities, and reclaimed water storage and pumping facilities; ensures the safe and efficient delivery of clean water to customers; collects water samples for chemical testing purposes; and maintains plant equipment. Qualifications: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in water treatment operations or a related field. Three years of experience in the operation of a water treatment plant and/or distribution system. Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license. Possession of a valid T3 Water Treatment Operator Certificate issued by the State of California, Department of Health Services. Possession of a valid D3 Water Distribution Operator Certificate issued by the State of California, Department of Health Services. The Water/Wastewater Intern will have the opportunity to assist in performing work in the operation of equipment in the wastewater treatment plant, domestic production facilities, agricultural pumping and storage facilities, and reclaimed water storage and pumping facilities, including maintenance, repair, and operation activities under direct supervision of an assigned licensed operator in the wastewater and water production departments.
